Do not hire this company.

Such a horrible experience in all ways, thousand of dollars worth of damage to my furniture, received someone elses items that were never picked up and received $72 for the furniture damage. The cross country delivery was 5 weeks late. Very upsetting experience.

Do Not Use This Company.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. This is the most horrible moving company that I’ve ever used and I’ve used a few. They are unfathomably worse by SO far. Boxes were packed half empty. Stuff just thrown in. Broken glasss, bent pans, ruined, ripped, stained clothes. This is after receiving our stuff over 3weeks late. Many unanswered calls. Our total due was almost more than double the original quote - obviously because the boxes are only half packed they took up more square footage. Still haven’t been able to get a hold of Diego or Justin who both knew of the problems that were happening, sold our stuff to a third party when I was guaranteed they wouldn’t.. There are so many more issues. I will be contacting the BBB and a lawyer about everything that has happened. Please, if you see this, be warned. Diego was absolutely wonderful UNTIL the moving company started messing up. And I haven’t been able to reach him since. Most horrible service I’ve ever dealt with.

From CA - FL.

I never like strangers to touch my stuffs when I want to move. But, this time I had no option than to hire a moving company. In that regard, I hired D&J moving reluctantly without knowing that they are just perfect and team of trained movers. The guys perfected the entire work and offered amazing moving experience which I never expected for my move. Thank you for this amazing moving experience.

Long-distance move from Mira Loma, CA to Yorktown, VA

Complete scam.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. These people are a complete scam. First, they’ll tell you that you’ll receive your items in 21 days, then it’s 30 days. After over a month of waiting and calling, we still have not received our items. They have multiple complaints online, and also function under the name Quest Moving. There are reviews from individuals who never received their belongings!!
Not only that, but they will give you a binding estimate, load your items into a truck, then increase your moving cost so that you are forced to pay $5,000 more then quoted, which is completely illegal.
Pay attention to the company you’re hiring. There are warning signs I should’ve seen. First off, nobody there has a last name, they answer their phones “moving and storage” with no company name, and they show up in a rented truck to pick up your items.
Go online to https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov to read what people say about the 2 companies they operate under, as well as the BBB. PLEASE DONT BE FOOLE.

Long-distance move from Colorado Springs, CO to Stafford Springs, CT

Warning!

Chris, Jen, Sam and Andrew are the four that I dealt with and have made my life miserable. They are absolutely good at stinging you along with lies. It's on it's way, having problems with electronic logs, on and on. 2 months later my 7 year old, wife and myself are still in a empty house, with no belongings. They will not text email or call, I am at a lost and will probably have to seek an Attorneys assistance.
DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY!!

Long-distance move from Tallahassee, FL to Scottsdale, AZ

Miserable experience.

The sales process:
The sales guy, Richard was very friendly and helpful. He told me exactly what I wanted to hear, even when it contracted the contract. After I paid my deposit he vanished. He became non-responsive as soon as things started to go wrong.

The pick up process:
Richard had set me up with a pick up time frame of 2pm - 6pm on December 22nd. I got a call from the driver around noon that day stating that their truck had broken down about two hours away from me and the earliest they could get to me would be 11pm. I did not want men that I don't know in my apartment at 11pm, so we rescheduled for 7am on the 23rd. When the driver did not show up by 7:15 am, I called him to find out where he was and he was still asleep. Three men showed up to move my stuff at about 8:30am. They were all very nice, but extremely unprofessional. Here's a few examples: When I opened my fridge, one of them looked in and asked if he and his two other guys could have water bottles. These were Smart Water and they cost about $2 each, but it would have been awkward to tell him no. A different guy asked if he could use my restroom and of course I told him yes. About 30 minutes later I made a comment to him about leaving the seat up, and he just laughed and walked away. He never put the seat back down. That same guy asked me if I smoke pot because he saw me smoking regular cigarettes. Lastly, they put a dog gate on my inventory list and they did not take my dog gate. That gate stayed in my apartment until December 30th. I was charged several hundred dollars more at pick up than Richard had initially quoted me.

Trying to find out the status of my delivery:
I was under the assumption that my items would be delivered prior to January 7th based on the conversation and correspondence with Richard. I started calling Richard and every other number I had for D &J on January 3rd, and no one could tell me where my items were. After more than 24 hours and four phone calls later, I was able to get Diego on the phone. He was unsure why none of his people could tell me where my items were because they were still at his warehouse. Diego frankly did not care that I was upset or deceived by Richard. At one point during our conversation he stated, "If you had a $10,000 move, you would have your stuff by now.” He did not care about my $3,000 move or the fact that it was nearly everything I owned.

My delivery:
I finally got the phone call that I had been waiting for on January 24th. The morning of the 25th, the driver called me and said that his truck would not fit in my apartment complex. I had to pay an additional $300 for them to rent a smaller truck to transfer my items into before they could make my delivery. As the two men were moving my items into my apartment, I noticed that NEARLY EVERY ITEM WAS DAMAGED. They tried to leave me with someone else's dog gate, even though they had been walking in and out of the one that I personally moved into my apartment weeks prior the entire time. Lastly, they lost my one and only irreplaceable item. It was a priceless painting that my grandma had painted for me and given to me as a gift. I know that it made it on the truck at pick up because I was charged $30 in packing materials for it. I was texting Diego pictures of every damaged item and told him about my missing painting and he did not offer one apology. He kept referring me to fill out a claim and at one point wrote that my damaged items, "didn't look that bad.”

Their sales people set unrealistic expectations, their movers are unprofessional and will damage and lose your items, the coverage for damaged and lost items is an insult and the owner of the business does not care. I told Diego that this has been a heartbreaking, miserable and infuriating ordeal for me and has has not offered one apology or showed me that he cared at all. I wish I had never done business with them.

Local move within Irvington, NJ

This company is a scam.

This company that is based in FL is a SCAM. I used them to go from NJ to TX and they sent me a BINDING estimate, asked for a deposit to secure my move then once the mover had gotten to my place and started loading the truck, they said I didn't have enough cubic feet to finish the job and it will cost me more to place everything on the truck almost 1000.00 more. Then they refused to to tell me the storage location. Please do not deal with this company, they will take you to he'll and back, just to keep you belonging and extort more money from you. They are brokers not movers, check their DOT#. I wanted to cancel my business with them and wrote them letting them know to deliver my belongings to a local storage NJ I'm comfortable with and they wanted me to still pay 1660 for the move reserved for TX..im having such a hard time with this company and the police will not do anything..BEWARE!!

Long-distance move from Fort Wayne, IN to Summerville, GA

Short notice move from Indiana to Georgia.

I recently had to move from Indiana to Georgia so I surfed trusty Google for a good moving company. After several hours of searching, phone calls with different companies, and many quotes later, I decided to go with D&J Moving. The price was right and the rep over the phone seemed to really care about me rather than push me to give a deposit right away. Overall, I am very pleased. The movers were respectful of my stuff and everything went smooth. I highly recommend them.

Smooth move.

With my position in the armed forces my family and I are constantly moving around the country. And everyone knows the moving process is time consuming and rather stressful. This was my first time utilizing D&J moving llc and it was for a very extensive move from Washington to NY on short notice. The entire process was efficient and the work was thorough-from the first phone call to the last piece of furniture. I’d recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a smooth and well-ordered move.

Long-distance move from Newport News, VA to Reno, NV

Great service!

I moved from VA to NV and decided to used D & J moving Llc. This is my first time to contact a moving company because I have never moved this far. I spoked with agent Andrew and told him all the stuff I needed to move and he said I would only need 4 feet of space. This carrier was so reliable because they came on time and left on time. The agent said that it will take 6-8 business days to arrive in NV. The customer service agent was the most helpful person, not only he explained the details on how to load my stuff, he even sent me pictures on spacing. Thank you so much Andrew. The truck arrived in 7 business days. All my stuff came without any damage and I was so pleased. I will definitely recommend D & J moving if you're thinking of moving.

Moving in general is stressful, working with D&J Moving relieved sooo much of that stress. They were so helpful from beginning to end. They made me feel like all questions and concerns were good ones. When they picked up all of my belongings they were respectful and very gentle. I was nervous it wouldn't be to my new home in time but when I arrived in Florida, it was there! I am so happy that I decided to work with this company, I would refer them to all of my family and friends if any of them needed a referral.

Easy/Convenient Move.

Although I'm use to moving, D&J Moving was everything I could have ever wanted. They conveniently showed up on time, carefully packed my ENTIRE house up, and safely drove over to my new home. Everything from their customer service agent to the actual movers themselves (believe it or not) were professional and polite. I've already referred them to my sister and highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of movers!

Long-distance move from Thomasville, GA to Jacksonville, FL

D&J Moving Company, Sunrise, FL.

I had a horrible experience with D & J Moving Company in Sunrise, Fl. I am 61 years old and live alone. I had never used movers before. I was lied to, cheated, and received my items crushed, broken and scratched. They also lied about their insurance and the quotes they give you. I was quoted almost $2000 to move and had to pay them almost $4000. I had to call the police to get my items delivered. They sent movers that could not speak English to pick up my items and they sent someone that did not speak English at all when they delivered my items. He was Russian & had to use translator app on phone that made no sense at all. I was lied to and disregarded by Andrew, Lisette, Diego and Justin from that company. I walked in each room giving lust if items to Lisette to quote me. She gave me quote of less than $2000 to move me from Thomasville, Ga to Jacksonville, Fl. After they loaded my items the movers told me I would owe more because my items took up too much cubic feet. I had originally listed dining table and 4 chairs and two big chest of drawers, a dresser with mirror and sofa when given quote. I sold them all prior to pick up. When I asked about that, they told me it was just estimate. I had to sign because they would not unload without charging me way more. I had to contact police in Sunrise, FL because they wouldn’t deliver my items. According to the cop I was speaking with, I was one of six that had gotten the cops involved with this company for the same reason.personally The next day Diego which was a Saturday, called me and told me my items would be there within 2 hrs. I didn’t even know they were delivering that day. He told me "If you aren't there when we arrive, your items will be dumped on the pavement and left there." He was angry because I called the cops. I was told what extra I would have to pay upon delivery. I had to find ATM because they would only take cash. I didn’t have the cash. The Russian driver they sent that didn't speak any English, got Diego (one of owners) because he said I owed more. They would not and load my items until I went and got the money. My cousins had to withdraw money from their ATM because I had already withdrawn my limit for the day. I was cursed that, yelled at And threatened by Diego on the phone. They unloaded the items and then brought in an inventory sheet for you to sign. They would not allow you to inventory your items. I didn’t receive all of my items, bedding, curtains, drapes, floor lamp, silverware, a lot of my winter clothes and other items. They broke an antique chair and ruined another one with blue thread from blankets embedded in the wood of my Gmother’s chair I inherited and my foot board of bed is scratched bad. It wasn’t even covered. I sent pictures and list of missing items and they haven’t done anything. On top of everything, the driver tried to force me to take items that didn't belong to me because "they had my ticket number on them." I read all of the reviews on Yelp and it can’t be a coincidence that so many people have experienced the same nightmares with the same company. I have spoken with several of them via email, one via telephone. Every time you contact D&J Movers (Sunrise, FL) you speak to a different person. I am 61, unemployed and do not have the money to repair or replace my items. I am living with my cousins in Jacksonville, FL. Each one has lied to me and they forced me to pay even more for them to unload. I don’t know what to do.

Long-distance move from Albany, NY to Westminster, CO

Moving nightmare.

D & J Moving made my move cross country a total nightmare. I hope no one has to go through what my girlfriend and I went through to get our stuff from them.
They give you a romanticized price to agree for them to move your stuff, and then before delivering tell you that you owe way more then agreed upon.
Our stuff didn’t arrive until over 2 weeks after the time we told them we’d arrive in our new home. They said they can’t put the stuff into transit until we’re here. Which they didn’t let us know until after our week long road trip. Fine. We toughed it out.
We get a phone call from the man driving our stuff saying they would arrive the following day. He told us that we still owed a balance of $1100 more than the agreed upon price. I told him there must be a mistake. So we called the office.
We had been dealing with Jen from D&J Moving. She was to say the least, incompetent. She was the one who took the inquiry of everything we owned to give us an estimate. You’d assume since this is her job and she does it every day that she would be able to give you a fair estimate. She knows what she’s doing and gives a way lower one. She assures us we went over the square footage limit. Oh and they can’t provide pictures or proof of the square footage.
Next we talk to Andrew. The only good thing he did was send over copies of the documents my girlfriends mother signed when the movers went to pick up our stuff. One of these documents, you can clearly see that the driver FORGED my signature. This document indicated that I was given the Rights and Responsibilites booklet. Thank you for sending me that Andrew, I’m sure you are very valued in the office..
One of the owners J, dismissed me and told me he’d look more into it and never heard from him again.
Diego was a tiny bit helpful by making it so that we only had to pay $800 than agreed upon instead of $1100 more.

Trying to resolve this issue was like nails on a chalkboard. I was lied to and told I would be called right back. When I would call back, several times, they couldn’t answer. I mean for days. I would have to call on friends and neighbors phones with different area codes to trick them into answering my calls. Once they put me on hol for over an HOUR. I called off of another phone and Jen answered, she was surprised it was me and just stuttered until she hung up on me.

This business is a joke. Instead of just doing their job in good faith, they scam people out of their hard earned money. It’s a shame that they can live this way. I hope someone reads this and decides to take their business elsewhere.

Move from CA to FL.

I'm glad I found D & J moving last minute for my move . I originally contracted a different company but they failed to show up on my pick up window and had me scrambling last minute. Even though D & J moving was more expensive it was worth having a reliable company to give me peace of mind. Long story short I was picked up and delivered within 14 business days and I was very happy with the outcome !

D & J Movers LLC Florida.

I originally had chosen another company who canceled on me with less than one week to find another conpany. Long-distance move from Santa Clara, CA to Berwyn, IL

Late delivery with terrible customer service & items missing.

In May, I paid the 1st deposit & was told that my belongings would be picked up from CA on June 2nd or 3rd & delivered to IL within 5 days of my chosen delivery date (June 16th).

Items were picked up on June 3rd & I signed the inventory, which stated the delivery date as being set for June 16th. It ended up costing ~50% more than their original quote due to the cubic feet being miscalculated.

June 15: I fly back to IL to await the delivery.

June 19: I call the moving company to ask for a status update. They tell me that they never gave me a 5-day delivery window and that my belongings now won’t be delivered for 2-3 weeks after my delivery date.

June 19-July 5th: I call several times within this period asking for a status update (they won’t give me one) & asking to speak to a manager (he’s never available & never calls back).

July 5th: This is two days before the end of the 3-week waiting period. I call again & they still cannot tell me where my belongings are. I tell them I’m not getting off the phone until I can speak to a manager. They finally say that they’ll transfer me, but I’m disconnected four separate times. Finally, on the 5th time, I speak to someone who says he’s the manager. I’m told that my belongings never left CA & that they aren’t supposed to be delivered for 14-21 “business days” after the delivery date, which now puts the latest delivery date at July 13.

July 12th: I’m called by the delivery company & told that they’re almost to my apt. I race home from my errands & call a few hours later for an update. I’m then told they won’t be here until July 13th or 14th.

After several confusing phone calls with the driver, they finally show up on the afternoon of July 14th. They demand payment before I even see my belongings and initially try to get me to sign the inventory sheet then as well. I outright refuse to sign the inventory before knowing if my belongings are all there. After several minutes arguing with the driver & then arguing with his boss over the phone, they finally decide to allow me to wait on signing the inventory until they pull everything off the truck.

As the boxes & furniture are brought to my apartment, I notice that other peoples’ belongings are mixed in with my own. I show the driver a seat cushion that is not mine & his response is, “This will look good in my home.”

Once everything has been delivered, I find several things belonging to other people within my boxes, including:
* A box of artwork that looks like it may have been painted by the owner
* A toolbox with various tools inside
* A seat cushion
* A wedding dress? returned to driver

As for my belongings: so far, I’ve noticed that my kitchen trash can is missing, as is my Kindle Fire, digital TV antenna, & a bunch of my extensions cords & wires that I had for my TV connections. Brown viscous fluid had somehow seeped all over the drawers in one of my dressers. One piece of furniture (a bathroom cabinet) was badly scratched and had to be disposed of.

Long-distance move from Visalia, CA to Hoboken, NJ

Do not hire.

DO NOT HIRE. Learn from me. I hired this company for a move from CA to NJ; told 14 to 21 business days still no things after 3 months, refusing to give me estimate or location of things.
D+ J moving LLC was hired to transport my goods from Visalia, Ca to Hoboken, NJ with an original pick up date of 6/15/18 with an estimated moving time of 12 to 21 business days. They have continued to not initiate my move as of the time I am writing this complaint on 9/18/18. The whole process from beginning until now has been a disaster. They were hired for a full service move. The truck came 3 days after we were initially quoted for pick up. They were unable to pack our goods so my wife had to do so with other friends as the movers were unable to even complete that task. That is only where the trouble began. I have been in contact with them and have been given the run around on the phone for months. I was told on two separate occasions that my things were in transit on a moving truck and both times told weeks after that they in fact were still in storage in California. The company is now to the point that they are refusing to give me an estimated date of delivery; refusing to supply me with the location of the goods to hire another company and withholding a copy of my bill of lading so I cannot file an insurance claim. They have been holding family hostage for months; refusing to return my goods; nor are they willing to work with me to put the job in capable hands. At this point I want my items returned my money refunded and any and all charges brought to this company.

Local move within California

Very Poor Service And Misleading Time Commitments.

I hired D&J for a move from the west coast to the midwest based upon good reviews that were posted and the delivery schedule they quoted me of 10 to 14 days. My household goods arrived 34 DAYS from pickup; all of my large pieces of furniture had damage even with some of these items wrapped in their blankets. Also, I had several boxes clearly marked with red 'FRAGILE' tape and various items were broken in these boxes. In addition, when the truck arrived I noticed that most of my boxes marked fragile had other boxes stacked on top of them. The loaders obviously were very careless with my items. To top it all off, when the truck FINALLY arrived, there was only one person (the driver) to unload the truck since the other two workers did not show up. At delivery, I attempted to get an adjustment to the cost but the owner only offered $450 off. The total cost of the move was $6,100. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY MOVE!!

Long-distance move from Palm Springs, CA to Falls Village, CT

Safe yourself from this company.

My experience with D&J moving was NOT good.
My original estimate for moving mostly boxes and two pieces of furniture from CA. to CT. was $ 2,464.
After waiting a month for a precise moving dates, I was notified twelve hours before the two movers arrived.
they loaded the truck with my belongings, then, I was told that the clothing boxes I used were bigger and were taking more S.F. in the truck.
I had to paid them more than twice the original estimate.
It took seven weeks to hear ( one day in advance' notice that my belongings were finally arriving.
Many boxes were damaged because they were stacked TOO high on top of each others.
I received very poor updates during the seven weeks on the location of the truck, while trying to set a date for surgery.
Moving is traumatic AND expensive, I expect a lot more from a moving co. that was my experience!
My opinion: do more research and Look elsewhere.

Long-distance move from Odessa, TX to Danville, PA

Worst service ever.

Hired D&J for a move on June 2018 from Texas to Pennsylvania.
They pushed pretty hard for me to give the deposit on the 1st call (to block the competitors I guess)
I gave the deposit 1 month in advance to my move. It was a pretty small one (405cf).
Without news from them I called back a few days before the move and been told that I would be contacted by the crew the day before the move.
The move was to take place on a Tuesday, with a backup day on the Wednesday.
I had no news on the Monday and assumed they would be there on the backup day.
No news either on the Tuesday so I called them back. I have been told that Odessa, TX was not a very active area (which is wrong, it’s a booming oilfield town, the most active area in the US) and that no Truck was going that direction. They had a truck available for the Thursday after another pickup bigger than expected and so they were not sure to pick up all my stuff.
I didn’t have much choice than trying it.
On the Thursday the truck didn’t show up.
On the Friday they finally admitted that they would not take care of the move and that I should look for another solution.
As almost everybody, I was on a deadline to vacate my apartment and didn’t appreciate the late answer.
Over those days I called them 14 times. Every time I have been told that they would call me back. They NEVER called me back.
It then took them several days to wire my deposit back.
Worst service ever.

Long-distance move from Boulder, CO to Pittsfield, MA

Do Not Use Them!

Could be the worst people EVER! Sales team very nice and I paid deposit for a move from Boulder, CO to Massachusetts, that's the last contact I had with the saleswoman, she never answered another call from me. Set the date and packed everything according to their requests (18x18x18 boxes). Flew to Colorado to help with the packing and called early in the morning for an update. Waited on hold for 29 minutes and they said..coming, just delayed. Called again at 1 and was put on hold with no one getting back on the line. Around 4 called again, as we sat on packed boxes, and they said "we aren't coming". I asked if they meant they weren't coming today and they would be there tomorrow?? and they said "No, we aren't coming at all, maybe we could get you next month". Now we had to scramble to get out of our rental. No one at this company showed an ounce of sorrow. No one cared. No suggestions on what to do, not compensation, nothing. How do people like this put their heads on their pillows at night? They left a mother and child 2000 miles from their destination high and dry without any concern. Do yourself a favor..DO NOT USE THEM! Horrible people.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY

Do Not Use.

For the past three months, I have had to deal with the inconsistent lies from D&J moving. My first date of delivery was August 8th 2018. Since the week before that date, they have been telling me my things were on a truck leaving Thursday/Friday and that it would arrive Tuesday or Wednesday of the week after. Nothing has ever come. During those three weeks of being told this I spoke with 5 different employees (Jen, Maria, Diego, Andrew, Justin), some were terribly rude, others came off nice but all told me a different story, a different timing estimate and when I questioned the conflicting stories they pretend like they had no idea what I was saying and basically claimed I was lying. When I ask them about why they lie about the things, they say they have never, that they are just relaying information given to them by their dispatcher. Aside from that they have told me that the "delay in delivery" has had to do with them taking on too many jobs, that it was busy season, that there was natural disasters and that there are was issues with the trucking company and their license. I have asked repeatedly to get the address of the location of my things in California so I can book another company to pick them up since it seem like they are too busy and after almost a month I have yet to receive the information. The owners also seem to have no idea where their warehouse are, claiming they don't keep the information in their offices, that only the dispatcher in California has it but he doesn't know where anything is. Very reassuring as a customer to know the owners of the moving company you hired have no tracking system in place. They will only communicate with me via phone and have not responded to any of me emails the past two months. I have had to report them to the BBB, to the FMCSA, The Attorney General's office and the AMSA. I have also spoken to multiple people on YELP dealing with similar issues since as early as APRIL or MARCH of 2018. Some have been told upon receiving their goods that they must pay an exorbitant amount of money above the binding estimate otherwise they will not get their things. It is sad and frustrating that they have had to go through this and know that I my have to do the same. IF my things are even existing still int he possession of D&J Movings employee for hires in California. On October 3rd they responded to my BBB complaint stating my things were "Out for Delivery" and no other information. NO ONE from the company called or emailed me directly to give me this information. When I call I get put on hold for 15+ minutes, Diego the owner who has answered all my phone calls up to last week is never around or too busy to take my calls, and according to the rest of the employees he is the only one who deals with my files so they can't speak to it. All I want is my stuff or to at least to know where it is so I can start figuring out how to proceed if they are lost forever. I am tired of the lies and the runaround. These people have absolutely no compassion and take advantage of customers who are mentally and physically exhausted after a big move and just want to settle down in their new homes. It's heartbreaking to have trusted these people with everything I basically own and possibly never seeing it again. If you made it this far, don't use this company.
